As winter is setting in, sale of warm clothes is gradually gaining momentum at different makeshift shops and shopping malls in the city.
People are now busy purchasing many winter clothe items including blankets, shawls, woolen sweaters, caps, mufflers, coats and cardigans at makeshift shops, roadside shops as well as in big shopping malls.
Prices of the warm cloths are varied according to quality and much higher as well this year compared to those of previous years, shoppers and customers alleged.
The makeshift shops have flooded the footpaths, station area, Lalbag, in front of Surovi Uddayan gate , in front of Zilla Parishad , CO Bazar area etc.
Sale of winter clothes at city’s, Jahaz company shopping complex, Jamal Market, Super Market, Salek Market, Betpatti Market, Mostafa market, Zilla Parishad Market, City Plaza, Moti Plaza has also begun and it will get further momentum within next couple of weeks, sources said.
Abul Kashem , who sells second-hand items including jackets, woolen sweaters and blazers in his shop in Jamal market in the city said that most of the young solvent customers prefer second hand warm clothes as they think such items are better in quality and design than new ones.
