Sale of winter clothes has begun to gain momentum in Rangpur and its adjacent areas. Many items including Blankets, shawls, woolen sweaters, caps, mufflers, coats, cardigans, etc. are being sold abundantly at different makeshift shops, roadside shops and stalls, as well as in big shopping malls.
Buyers are crowding these places in order to purchase different varieties of warm clothes. Prices of the warm cloths are varied according to quality and much higher as well this year compared to that of previous year, shoppers and customers said.
The makeshift shops have flooded the footpaths, Station area, Lalbag, Surovi Uddayan gate area, in front of Zilla Parishad market, Road side of Rangpur Municipality, Jahaz Company intersection, CO Bazar area etc.
Sale of warm clothes at city’s, Jahaz company shopping complex, Jamal Market, Super Market, Salek Market, Betpatti Market, Mostafa market, Zilla Parishad Market, City Plaza, Moti Plaza has also gained pace.
“I sell a good number of second-hand warm clothes everyday, which are higher in demand than new clothes,” said Nizam owner of a second hand clothing shop at the Rail Station area.
