Sales of Eid advance bus tickets began on Friday for the country’s northern and southern regions passengers.
Transport owners said that they had started selling advance bus tickets on Friday morning from the city’s Gabtali, Shyamoli and Kalyanpur bus terminals.
Romesh Chandro Ghosh, Chairman of Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners Association, said that they had decided to sell the advance bus tickets for the country’s northern and southern regions passengers from Friday morning.
A huge crowd were seen at the bus stands since the morning till noon. They stood in queue for tickets braving the rains.
As the day progressed, the queues in front of counters became longer.
Hanif Paribahan Manager Sabuj told the media that tickets are on sale region-wise from Asad Gate, Shyamoli and Kalyanpur bus counters. They faced pressure on the first day.
Some ticket-seekers at Kalyanpur bus counter told the media that this year, tickets are being sold at four different counters by region-wise. The pressure of tickets seekers is high. “After waiting three and a half hours on the long queue, I got the desired three tickets of August 9”, they said.
