The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official said that country’s leading coach Mohammad Salahuddin will act as the chief instructor in the upcoming level-1 coaching programme, scheduled on October 12-16. “Yes, he (Salahuddin) will act as the chief instructor in our upcoming level-1 coaching programme. He is a vastly experienced coach and we feel he can share his knowledge with other coaches,” BCB’s game development chairman Khaled Mahmud told adding that group of 24 coaches will take part in the level-1 coaching programme who are to be selected on the basis of the districts.
“We will nominate 24 coaches and we will select it keeping in mind where we need to have coaches in different parts of the country. Like in some districts there is no level-1 coach and we want to make sure that players of those districts get the opportunity to hone their skill with a level-1 coach,” said an official of the BCB game development.
Salahuddin, who worked in different capacities in Bangladesh national team during the stints of Dav Whatmore, Jamie Siddons and Shaun Williams in the past, was excited to reunite with the BCB again. “It’s a big opportunity for me and I am really looking forward to it,” said Salahuddin.
“If I can share my experience and help them to be a better coach, it’ll be one of my biggest achievements because they are expected to work at the grass-root level,” he added.
