BSS, Dhaka :Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) incumbent president Kazi M Salahuddin re-elected as president for the third consecutive times in the much-hyped BFF election held on Saturday in a city hotel.’Combined Consensus Panel’ led by Salauddin got 83 votes while his nearest rival Kamrul Ashraf Khan Poton of ‘Save Football Panel’ secured 50 votes. One vote has been cancelled. A total of 134 delegates exercised their voting rights in the election.Among the four vice president’s posts, incumbent vice president Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Tabid M Awal, Badal Roy and Mohiuddin Mohi won beating their respective rivals. Jessore 3 constitution lawmaker Nabil Ahmed also reelected for the third terms in the post securing maximum 92 votes followed by Badal Roy 73 votes, Mohiuddin Mohi 72 votes and Tabid Awal 66 votes.Tabith Awal contested as independent candidate this time while rests are belong to the Kazi Salahuddin’s combined consensus panel. The combined-panel’s fourth candidate Shamsul Haque Chowdhury missed out after getting 58 votes.There is no contest for the post of senior vice president as ‘Combined Consensus Panel’ led by incumbent senior vice president Abdus Salam Murshedy earlier elected unopposed after ‘Save Football Parishad’ panel led by his opponents Dewan Shamsul Arefin Tutul, Monjur Kader Chowdhury and Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan withdrew their candidature from the same posts. Earlier, before the election, an Annual General Meeting (AGM), presided over the BFF president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin, successfully concluded at 1 pm with all the bills unanimously passed in the meeting.The election started at 2 pm, one hour break, after the AGM and continued till 4.30 pm. The councilors started to gather at the election venue to cast their vote from 11 am.The legendary footballer, who served in the post from 2008 to 1016, elected president for the first time of BFF in 2008 after beating former army officer Amin Ahmed Chowdhury again unanimously declared elected in an annual general meeting of 2012 election.Chief election commissioner Mezbah Uddin said the election peacefully concluded. AFC delegate Mun Si Song was also present to observe the election.
