Dr Sheikh Salahuddin Ahmed and Advocate Bashir Uddin have been elected President and General Secretary of the central committee of South Asian Lawyers’ Forum (SALF) respectively for 2016-2018.
The biennial election was held in the auditorium of Metropolis Ideal Law College at Firmgate in the city, Election Commissioner Advocate M Shoaib Mia announced the committee.
The other office-bearers are: Adv Hawlader Mohammad Anisuzzaman (Vice-President), Adv Monirul Islam Akash ( Vice-President ), Adv Zahidul Haque Babu (Vice-President), Adv Selim Jabed (Vice-President), Adv Alamgir Khan ( Jt Gen Secy), Adv Shuel Islam Khan ( Jt Gen Secy ) Adv Rumana Islam Serniabat (organizational Secy), Adv. Md Zhairul Islam Zahir (publicity Secy), Adv Taslima Yasmin Dipa (Women Affairs Secy), Adv Mahinur Akhter Leiju (Cultural Secy), Adv Amjad Hossain Majan (Social Welfare Secy), Adv Ataur Rahman Lipon (Information Secy) and Adv Kamal Hossain (Edn Secy).
