UNB, Bogra :A local leader of Bangabandhu Sainik League, a pro-Awami League organisation, was stabbed to death by another leader before police in the district town on Friday evening.The deceased was identified as Shimul Rehan, 35, convener of district Bangabandhu Sainik League. He was also the joint convener of district Battery-run Auto-rickshaw Owners’ Association. Police said Shimul had been at loggerheads with unit joint convener Sabuj Saudagar over collecting toll from three-wheelers. An altercation ensued between them in front of the district Awami League office around 6:15pm when policemen had been deployed there. At one stage, Sabuj stabbed Shimul in the chest indiscriminately, leaving him injured.He was whisked off to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
