BWF India Super series 2015: Saina, Srikanth win singles titles

Saina Nehwal of the hosts won the BWF India Super series 2015 Women’s singles title beating Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon in the final by 21-16 and 21-14 points and is thereby the first Indian to become the World No. 1 female badminton player. Hosts’ Srikanth Kidambi defeated Denmark’s Viktor Axelsen to take the men’s singles title. He won by 18-21, 21-13 and 21-12 points.
These two Indians won the China Open’s Men and Women’s singles titles last year to their credit. Saina lost to Spain’s Carolina Martin in the All-England Badminton final for Women’s singles a few days ago.
China captured Men’s and Mixed doubles titles while Japan earned Women’s doubles.
