A rebel candidate for mayoral position in Sailkupa municipal election Toyebur Rahman Khan was expelled from the party and his position as the joint secretary of the municipal unit.
Ruling AL Jhenaidah district committee general secretaary, also the mayor of Jhenaidah municipality Saidul Karim Mintu had read a notice reportedly signed by the office secretary of the unit Asaduzzaman Asad on Sunday evening. District level leaders of the party remain present there.
The notice said, AL Sailkupa unit joint secretary Toyebur Rahman Khan had violated the party norms and fighting as a rebel candidate in ensuing municipality polls in Sailkupa. For his rebel activities the party had expelled him and cancelled his primary membership in the party.
