Saifuddin out of ICC T20 World Cup

Bangladesh Cricket Board included fast bowler Rubel Hossain in the 15-man-squad of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup as replacement of Saifuddin as the latter is ruled out of the tournament due to back injury.
Saifuddin picked four wickets in the three matches that he played in the qualifying round while he picked 1-38 against Sri Lanka in the opening game of their Super 12’s campaign, including an over costing 22 runs.
As per team official, Saifuddin complained about pain on the left side of his back after the last game against Sri Lanka.
The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 announced on Wednesday that they have approved Rubel Hossain as a replacement for Mohammad Saifuddin in the Bangladesh squad.
Fast bowler Rubel, who has played 159 international matches including 28 T20Is was a reserve as per the allowance for teams to travel with extra players in view of Covid-19 quarantine requirements.
The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 consists of Chris Tetley (Head of Events, Chair), Clive Hitchcock (ICC Senior Cricket Operations Manager), Rahul Dravid and Dhiraj Malhotra (BCCI Representatives), Simon Doull and Ian Bishop (Independent Members).
