Abdullah Al-Saif of Narayanganj Pritam-Prism Chess Club still maintained his solo lead in the points table of the 1st Golden Chess Club International Rating Chess Tournament (Below 2200) with 6.5 points after the 7th round games now being held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room in the city.
FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Gopalganj Chess Club, M Sharif Hossain of Fire-Service and Mohammad Ibrahim Hossain of Sreejan Chess closely following the leader with 6 points each.
Shafiq Ahmed of Golden Chess and Mohammad Sherajul Kabir of Farashganj SC jointly placed the 3rd position with 5.5 points.
Masum Hossain, Ikramul Haq Siam, M Abu Hanif, Mohammad Sagar, Md. Nasim Hossain Bhuiyan, Khondakar Nazre Mowla, Abdur Rauf, Mohammad Alamgir-2, Fasal Hossain and Anisuzzman Mallik earned 5 points each.
In the 7th round games held on Monday evening, Saif split points with Fahad, Sharif beat Mowla, Ibrahim beat Sagar, Sheraj beat Nasim, Shafiq beat Delwar Hossain, Masum beat Belal Hossain, Siam beat Mohammed Salim, Hanif beat Ratan Rajbhor, Rauf beat Obaidul Islam Shahin, Alamgir beat Amir Hossain, Faisal beat Hamida Mahmud and Anis beat Rabiul Bhuiyan.
