Saif Sporting Club want to stamp their authority

Newly promoted Saif Sporting Club Limited means business as they sent early warning to stamp their authority in the top flight football league with an attractive brand of football in the Bangladesh Premier League.
The latest event in folding when British born Ghanaian Kim Grant was roped by Saif Sporting as their new head coach. Earlier during the players transfer time, they seem to be quite active by signing number of experienced players for their club. This was enough to pronounce their presence in the football arena as a club who mean business.
Kim Grant, the ex-Ghana striker replaced Serbian coach Nikola Kavazovic, who was terminated during Saif SC’s pre-season preparations in Kolkata. Grant, 44, was working as the technical director of Ghana Premier League side Ebusua Dwarfs recently.
“We were actually searching for a coach who has experience of managing underrated players and Grant has such experience till date, I am very impressed with his approach and the techniques, ” said Saif SC managing director Nasiruddin Chowdhury.
Saif Sporting Club earned the right to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) as the champions of Bangladesh Championship League last year and they are striving more in order to stamp their authority at the highest level of Club football in Bangladesh.
Saif Sporting’s attitude and visions was very clear as their team went to Kolkata for a pre-season preparation. This has never ever happened earlier in Bangladesh Club football history.
Saif SC returned home on Wednesday after completing a one month preparation camp in Kolkata last month. Their organizers were lavish as they spent quite heavily to sign big names from Dhaka Abahani and also their think tankers roped in a number of exciting youngsters including Motin Mia.
Motin Mia, renowned for his football skills as a fully amateur in Sylhet zone is all set to turn professional with Saif Sporting this season.
The club also retained the services of seven of their Bangladesh Championship League players and they are – Sazzad, Kabir, Shadin, Saddam, Rafi, Likhon and Rahim.
National midfielder Jamal Bhuiyan, the Danish expatriate will lead the team, national booters Shakil Ahmed, Hemanta Vincent Biswas, Jewel Rana, Ariful Islam and Topu Barman snatched from Abahani. Chittagong Abahani youngster and winger Mohammad Ibrahim and Rahmatganj defender Shawkat Russel were also recruited.
Saif Sporting’s foreign signings include forwards Hember Balencia Olaya and Alvi Fokou Fopa from Coloumbia and midfielder Deiner Andress from Ghana.
Overall, Saif Sporting Club have sent enough early warning for other clubs that they will be a force to be reckoned in the coming season. Now, one has to wait and see whether Saif Sporting can fulfill their early promises.
