Newcomer Saif Sporting Club made a good start in the Marcel Bangladesh Championship League (BCL) Football beating T&T Club, Motijheel by 3-1 goals in the opening match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Saturday.
Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy inaugurated the league as the chief guest. BFF senior vice president and chairman of the professional league committee Abdus Salam Murshedy was also present as special guest.
The winners led the first half by 2-0 goals in the day’s opener.
Sumon put Saif SC ahead in the very 6th minute while Ariful doubled the margin for Saif SC in the 16th minute from a penalty (2-0).
Sajjad netted the 3rd goal for Saif SC in the 2nd stoppage time of the match (3-0) while Nayeemuddin scored the consolation goal for T&T Club from a penalty, also in the stoppage time.
Bangladesh Police FC will play Kawran Bazaar Progati Sangha on Sunday at 3:15 pm at the Kamalapur Stadium.
