Saif Sporting Club continued to keep domination in the league table of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football beating bottom-ranked Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by 2-0 goals in the lone encounter held on Tuesday at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj.
With this victory, Saif Sporting Club moved up their tally with 10 points from four matches while all-losers Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra have one point playing three outings.
In the day’s match, Mohammad Arifur Rahman opened an account scoring the first goal for Saif in the 18th minute while after the resumption it was Jabed Ahmed who sealed the victory for Saif scoring the second goal in the 57th minute of the match.
Saif SC dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory while the freedom fighters Muktijoddha Sangsad were totally off-colored and failed to create any real scoring chances during the proceeding.
Earlier, Saif Sporting Club made an auspicious start as they edged past Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society by 1-0 goals in their league opening match and beat Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited also by the same margin in their second match.
Saif Sporting Club shared point as they played out to a 2-2 goals draw with Chattogram Abahani Limited in their third League match.
On the other hand, Muktijoddhda Sangsad KC lost to Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 1-2 goals in their League opening match and played out to a 2-2 go a draw with Aambagh Krira Sangha in their second league match.
Saif Sporting Club will play their next match against Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh while Muktijoddha Sangsad KC will meet Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra at Sylhet District Stadium in Sylhet, both to be held on March 7.
Wednesday’s matches: Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society vs Bashundhara Kings at 3.30 pm and Abahani Limited, Dhaka vs Mohammedan Sporting Club 6.30 pm, both at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
