Saif Sporting Club clinched title of the Walton Premier Division Chess League after the 9th and final round game at National Sports Council Auditorium on Wednesday.
Saif SC collected 17 points from nine games with unbeaten record for their maiden title dethroning Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club which finished runners-up collecting 16 points.
In the day’s final round, Saif SC played draw against Bangladesh Navy Chess Team by 2-2 points while Sk Russel beat Masud Sports Chess Club by 4-0 points.
Bangladesh Navy Chess Team finished 3rd with 13 points, followed by Titas Club which collected 12 points while Leonine Chess Club finished 5th with 11 points.
Other positions are: 6th- Fire Service & Civil Defence Sports Club (8 points); 7th- Sonali Bank Sports & Recreation Club (5 points); 8th- Golden Sporting Club (4 points); 9th- Sultana Kamal Smirity Pathagar (4 points); 10th- Masud Sports Chess Club (failed to collect any points).
