Saif Sporting Club (SC) beat Dhaka Abahani Limited by 4-2 goals in their match of the TVS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Sunday.
It was Dhaka Anahani Limited’s second defeat in their Bangladesh Premier League campaign. Earlier, Dhaka Abahani Limited lost to Chittagong Abahani Limited by 2-3 goals in their first round match.
Dhaka Abahani Limited took the second position in the points table collecting 38 points from 18 matches, while Saif Sporting Club took the third spot bagging 33 points from as many matches.
 Saif Sporting Club’s Nigerian recruit Emphon Sunday, Sabuz Hossain, Rahim Uddin and their Rwandan teammate Emery Bayisenge scored one goal each.
On the other hand, Dhaka Abahani Limited’s Brazilian recruit Dorielton Gomez and their Costa Rican forward Daniel Colindres pulled off one each.
In the day’s second match, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra thrashed Uttar Baridhara Club by 5-3 goals at Bashundhara Sports Complex in Dhaka.
Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra took the eight position bagging 21 points from 18 matches, while Uttar Baridhara Club took the ninth spot earning 13 points from as many outings.
Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra’s Nigerian recruit Ismail scored two goals and his teammate Mahbubur Rahman, Nasir Uddin Chowdhury and Mannaf Rabbi netted one each.
On the other hand, Uttar Baridhara Club’s Maruf Ahmed, Shamim Yasir Jewel, Asadul Islam Sakib scored one goal each.
In the day’s third match, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited defeated Chittagong Abahani Limited by two goals to nil at the Bhasha Sainik Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited took the fourth position grabbing 33 points from 18 matches, while Chittagong Abahani Limited took the sixth spot collecting 26 points from 18 matches.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited’s Uzbek forward Otabek scored the two goals.
