Saif PowerTec is likely to sponsor Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the home and away basis professional football league of the country, for next four years.
The decision was taken in the 2nd executive committee meeting of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) held its board room Sunday evening with BFF President Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin in the chair.
The meeting also approved the names of the chairmen and deputy chairmen of its 16 standing committees and four ad-hoc committees with BFF boss Kazi Salahuddin will lead three committees-Emergency Committee, Media Committee and District Football League Committee.
BFF Senior Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedy will lead two committees–Professional League Management Committee and Finance and Budget Committee while BFF member cum former general secretary Harun-ur Rashid will also two committees-Dhaka Metropolitan Football League Committee and Internal Audit Committee.
The meeting decided to start Walton Federation Cup Football on schedule from June 10 with the participation of 12 clubs of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and also decided to give four-year rights to Saif PowerTec to sponsor the BPL to be held in six venues across the country.
The tenure of the BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag was also extended by two years in the meeting.
