Sagicor High Performance Centre of West Indies took a 2-0 lead beating Bangladesh A by three wickets in the 2nd match of their three-match ODI series at Windward Park in Barbados on Tuesday.
Andre Russell’s six-wicket haul, his career best 6 for 28, forced Bangladesh A to concede second consecutive defeat against Sagicor HPC.
Russell won his successive man-of-the-match award in the 2nd match after the first one-dayer, where he scored 132 runs off 56 balls to seal the win over Bangladesh by 117 runs at Bridgetown.
In the Tuesday’s match, Bangladesh batted first after winning the toss and were all out for 179 in 46.5 overs.
One down Marshall Ayub and skipper Naeem Islam scored 45 runs each while Sabbir Rahman (21), Shuvagata Hom (12), Soumya Sarkar (11) and Farhad Reza (not out 10) were the other notable scorers for Bangladesh.
Apart from Russell’s six-wicket haul, Ashley Nurse grabbed two wickets for 38 runs while Carlos Brathwaite and Nikita Miller took one wicket each.
Chasing 180 runs, Sagicore HPC reached the target in 38.4 overs for the loss of seven wickets.
Number six Chadwick Walton scored team highest 45 not out while number nine Ashley Nurse added another unbeaten 40 runs.
Walton and Nurse also built up unbeaten 77-run partnership in 16.4 overs, in the 9th wicket stand, to take the score to 180/7 in 38.4 overs.
Earlier, Jermaine Blackwood (28) and Nkrumah Bonner (28) contributed 51 runs in 8.3 overs in the second-wicket stand.
Jonathan Carter (26) was the other double digit scorer for Sagicor HPC.
Robiul Islam grabbed three wickets for 59 runs while Farhad Reza and Muktar Ali took two wickets each for 22 and 35 runs respectively.
The last one-day match of the series will be held on Thursday (June 12) at Black Rock.
