Bangladesh men’s volleyball team kicked off their South Asian Games 2019 campaign with a dramatic 3-2 set win over host Nepal in the opening day of volleyball events at Dasarath Rangasala stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal on Wednesday, four days before the official inaugural ceremony. Harsit Biswas and Co came back from behind twice to clinch victory.
They lost the first set by 21-25 points before winning the second 25-23. Nepal won the third set comfortably 25-19 before the visitor scripted another comeback with a thrilling 26-24 win in the fourth set.
The fifth and final set ended 15-12 in Bangladesh’s favor. The men’s team, guided by Iranian coach Ali Pour Aroji, will face India in their final group stage match Thursday. Earlier on the same day, the newly formed women’s team lost by straight 3-0 sets in the first match of Group A, falling short by 25-9, 25-9, 25-11 points.
