A total of 200 fishermen have received various materials of safety equipment at Dhania Union Parishad (UP) ground under Sadar upazila of the district to protect themselves from the risk of natural calamities.
In collaboration with the Local Government Initiative on Climate Change (Logic) project, the Department of Local Government today provided the safety equipment like one life jacket, five life buoys, one heavy duty torch light, one solar panel, one radio and one water filter to the fishermen of the area, reports BSS.
Deputy Director of Local Government Department Mamun Al Farooq distributed those safety items as the chief guest this afternoon with Chairman of Dhania Union Parishad Md. Emdad Hossain Kabir in the chair.
Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Jamal Hossain, Executive Magistrate Nusrat Fatema Chowdhury, District Climate Change Coordinator of Logic Project Nurul Momen Siddique and Coordinator of District Climate Finance Helal Uddin were present, among others, on the occasion.
