M Maududur Rashid Safdar, additional secretary to the government, has joined as the Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD). Safdar took the office on January 12 last.
Before joining at BARD, he discharged his duty as the director of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation.
Safdar joined the civil service in 1988 and worked as assistant commissioner and executive magistrate, assistant commissioner (land) and upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) in several districts.
He completed his graduation and post graduation from Dhaka University’s Public Administration Department. Later, he earned another post graduate degree on Liberal Studies (Public Affairs) from University of Minnesota, USA.
