Joynal Abedin Khan :A group of sacked members of different law enforcement agencies are allegedly involved in serious crimes like abduction and snatching across the capital, police said.”The detective branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has identified at least ten such gangs in the capital, being patronized by the former members of law enforcement agencies, including Army, Police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB),” Monirul Islam, Joint Commissioner of DMP has said.Meanwhile, the law enforcers detained eight fake DB men from the city’s Ramana and Tejgaon areas on Friday night. The are Abdus Samad, Siraj Hawlader, Abul Hossein, Shahah Uddin, Farhad Gazi, Nannu Mia, Tara Mia and Airfuzzamn. Of them, Samad was sacked from the Bangladesh Army in 2005 for violating the chain of command of the force. The fake SB men admitted in the custody that they had connection in the recent snatching incident of the city’s Banani area, the police official said. “The arrestees also informed that at least 15 gangs are connected in committing crimes in the city, Monirul said. “So far, we have arrested at least one hundred people, including the former law enforcers, of such gangs in the last six to seven years. They managed bail and involved in crimes again,” the DMP spokesman said. A number of arrested people confessed at the police and RAB custody that they were committing crimes with the help of some former terminated members of law enforcing agencies, the police official said.The DB man said that the sacked members were committing crimes easily as they have both training and experience in the crime sector.”The fake law enforcers also supply handcuff, police uniform and other equipments for committing crimes,” said a DB official.
