UNB, Chittagong :Vowing ‘zero tolerance’ to subversive activities, Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque on Wednesday said the saboteurs will be dealt with an iron hand.”Those who have been carrying out petrol bomb attacks are terrorists. The saboteurs will be brought to book to ensure public safety. The police will show ‘zero tolerance’ in this regard,” said the IGP.He was addressing a meeting at CMP Shooting Club as the chief guest.After the meeting, Shahidul Hoque told reporters that stern actions will be taken against those carrying out arson attacks on vehicles and sought public support in resisting the saboteurs.About stopping of bus movement on highways at night, he said, “We’ve requested the bus owners association to stop bus movement on highways after 9 pm considering public safety and they responded to our request. If they want they can resume the service anytime at night.””The situation, I think, is now normal. Some top 20-party leaders, including BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, have been sued,” Shahidul Hoque added. Replying to another question, the IGP said the investigation officers of the cases can arrest anyone for the sake of investigation any time.
