Sabic, Saudi Arabia and BCIC sign for urea import

Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) continued its efforts for adequate supply and marketing of Urea Fertilizer through import and production from own source like previous years. In continuation of that process 3 (three) members delegation headed by Secretary of Ministry of Industry Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan visited Sabic, Saudi Arabia from 7th February to 14th February 2016.
In this context an Agreement (G 2 G) signed for import 2 (two) lacs MT Granular Urea, 1 (one) lac 5 (five) thousand MT of Prilled Urea from Sabic, Saudi Arabia on 8 February, 2016 in presence of Secretary of Ministry of Industry, Ambassador of Bangladesh Hon’ble High Commissioner Golam Moshio in Saudi Arabia and Economic Councillor Dr. Mohammed Hasan. Mohammad Iqbal on behalf of Chairman of BCIC and General Manager (Nitrogen, BU) Al Rabbiyan Abu Naser signed in the agreement. By this Agreement Urea stock position will be sufficient against the country demand for the year 2016-2017 and proper distribution will be helpful. The team also visited Fertilizer factories of Sabic, Saudi Arabia and Port facilities in Jubail city.
