The Citycell SABA 3 x 3 Basketball Championship will begin on April 15 (Tuesday) at the Basketball Gymnasium in the city’s Dhanmondi.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Sri Biren Sikder will inaugurate the meet-as the chief guest while FIBA-Asia president Sheikh Saud Bin Ali Al-Thgani will present as special guest.
FIBA- Asia secretary general Hagop Khajiri, Citycell chief executive officer Mehbub Chowdhury and other dignitaries of the participating countries will also present in the opening ceremony. Apart from hosts Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives and Sri Lanka will compete in the meet, sponsored by Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Limited.
Food Minister Advocate M Kamrul Islam will present as the chief guest on the concluding day (April 16).
Bangladesh Olympic Association secretary general Syed Shahed Reza and Citycell chief executive officer Mehbub Chowdhury will also present as special guests.
In this regards, a press conference was held on Saturday at the Bangladesh Olympic Association conference to give all the details of the meet.
Bangladesh Basketball Federation (BBF) president Dr Mostaf Jalal Mohiuddin, general secretary AK Sarkar, Citycell head of corporate communications and public relation Taslim Ahmed were present, among others, at the press conference.
