SAARC artists’ camp begins tomorrow

With the participation of 48 artists from eight member states of the SAARC an art camp titled “SAARC Artists’ Camp 2014” is going to be inaugurated at Nilachal of Bandarban under the banner of ‘Solidarity with Nature – A South Asian Perspective’ on April 9.
Cultural Affairs Ministry and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in support with SAARC Cultural Centre the camp is being organised.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor MP will inaugurate the camp as chief guest.
Concluding ceremony of the art camp will be held at the auditorium of the National Art Gallery of Shilapakala Academy at 6:30pm on April 11.
Therefore, with the participation of the artists of SAARC countries a group exhibition will be inaugurated at 10:00am at the National Art Gallery on April 9.
Noted artist Samarjit Roy Chowdhury will inaugurate the exhibition as chief guest.  
This was announced at a press conference held at Shilpakala Academy where Secretary to the Cultural Affairs Ministry Dr Ranjit Kumar Biswas, Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky, Deputy Director of SAARC Cultural Centre Soundarie David Rodrigo, Director of Fine Arts of Shilapakala Academy Md Anwar Hossain, spoke at the conference.
