The Sheikh Kamal 1st South Asian (SA) Vovinam Championship got underway on Friday at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in the city’s Mirpur.
Minister for Information Hasanul Haq Inu inaugurated the competition as the chief guest. Vice-President of World Vovinam Federation Bishnu Sahai, President of Bangladesh Vovinum Association Dildar Hasan Dilu, General Secretary of Bangladesh Martial Art Confederation Hasanuzzaman Moni were present at the time.
A total of 80 athletes from hosts Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Afghanistan are taking part in the championship.
