South Africa (SA) Cricket team leveled the One Day International (ODI) series (1-1) with Bangladesh (BD) Cricket team beating the tourists by seven wickets in the second ODI at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday.
Earlier, Bangladesh defeated South Africa by 38 runs in the first ODI on March 18.
Chasing Bangladesh’s fighting total of 194 for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs, South Africa reached the winning spot making 195 for the loss of three wickets in 37.2 overs.
Quinton de Kock hit his team’s highest of 62. His 41-ball innings was laced with nine fours and two sixes.
Kyle Verreynne remained unbeaten with 58. He hit four fours and two sixes in his 77-ball innings.
Besides, Temba Bavuma and Janneman
Malan added 37 and 26 runs respectively to the winners’ total.
Afif Hossain, Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took one wicket each for 15, 33 and 56 runs respectively.
Earlier, Kagiso Rabada captured five wickets for the loss of 39 runs. Rabada was adjudged the Man of the Match for his match-winning bowling.
Afif Hossain and Mehidy Hasan Miraz built a most notable partnership. They put on together 86 runs in the seven-wicket stand before Afif Hossain was caught at the short midwicket by Temba Bavuma off Kagiso Rabada when Bangladesh’s score was 180 for the loss of seven wickets.
Afif hit a marvelous 72. His 107-ball innings saw nine fours. Afif reached his second ODI fifty-run landmark using 79 balls with seven fours.
Miraz notched up a polished 38. His 49-ball knock had two sixes and a four.
