South African left arm orthodox bowler Aaron Phangiso admitted that the series against host Bangladesh will be a tough one
for them as their bowlers would get little help on the slow Mirpur wicket.
In the only practice match prior to the series, the touring side blows away BCB XI by 8 wickets at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Despite the easy win in the one-off practice match, Aaron Phangiso, the leading Proteas spinner, is not considering it easy to face full-fledged
Bangladesh team in the coming series.
“Yes, this win will provide us some confidence for the series; everyone is working hard amidst this hot weather. But I think it is going to be a tough
job for us to play well against Bangladesh” – remarked Phangiso, source cricket website.
The left arm orthodox bowler has judged the sub continent wickets as slow and low, “It is hard to bowl here; you have to deliver upon strength because there is not much turn here,” he added.
But Phangiso also said that Bangladeshi spinners get the home advantage to do something special, “Bangladesh have diverse spinners in their team and
they might show something special in their home condition” – added Phangiso.
The first T20 of the two-match series against South Africa begins today (Sunday) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at 1 pm.
