S Korea to set up leather industry in Mongla EPZ

South Korean company Masters Leather Limited will establish a leather products manufacturing industry at a cost of US$ 8 million in Mongla Export Processing Zone, says a press release.
This 100percent foreign venture will produce annually 1.72 million pcs ladies & men handbag, luggage & travelling bag, book cover, paencil case & holder, hand phone case, leather apron & leather cushion.
The company will create employment opportunity for 2038 Bangladeshi nationals.
An agreement to this effect signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority and Masters Leather Limited in Dhaka on Thursday at BEPZA Complex.
Sayed Nurul Islam, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA and Kyung Sik Kim, Managing Director of Masters Leather Limited signed the agreement.
Major General Mohd. Habibur Rahman Khan, ndc, psc, Executive Chairman, Md Shawkat Nabi, Secretary, Nazma Binte Alamgir, General Manager (Public Relations) and Md Nurul Haque General Manager (Enterprise Services & Investment Promotion) of BEPZA were present on the occasion.
