The South Korean Ambassador to Dhaka Ahn Seong-doo on Tuesday handed over 108 books and 108 DVDs to the ‘Korea Corner’ in the central library of the Dhaka University.
DU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr AASM Arifin Siddique received the books and DVDs when the Korean Ambassador met him at the latter’s office.
The Korean envoy said during the last 42 years, the two countries have enjoyed the excellent relationship and Korea will remain an excellent partner of Bangladesh for its development, said a press release.
The Ambassador said the initiative will help enhance strengthening partnership and mutual cooperation between Korea and Dhaka University.
The Korean envoy said the Korean Embassy in Dhaka is continuously assisting to improve the information and educational environment of the Korea Corner in central library of Dhaka University to enhance knowledge about Korea. The DU VC thanked the Korean government and Korean Ambassador for books and educational equipment.
He said Korea is Bangladesh’s development partner and Korean government has been providing assistance help and cooperation at various fields, especially education sector of Bangladesh, for long time.
The Korea Corner is playing a strong role as a ‘communication bridge’ between Korea and the students of Dhaka University.
The Korea Corner set a good example for such collaboration. In 2013, Republic of Korea and Dhaka University signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and set up this Korea Corner to marks the 40th anniversary of establishment of the diplomatic relations between Korea and Bangladesh.
