Russia will invest $100 million for the development of ICT section of Bangladesh. Recently a MoU was signed at the confidence centre at Shahjadpur in the city between Russia’s state-owned apex IT company RITE and country’s IT company Unicom Bangladesh. Md. Shahid-ul Munir, CEO of Unicom Bangladesh and Aleksei Chugunov, Director Technical signed the MoU on the respective side.
Under the agreement, Russia will work for development of IT security in banking sector, enhancement of government IT services, equipped public service providing institutions with IT-technology, establishing Smart City, development of education sector, insurance and overall IT services and facilitate the development of providing hi-tech facilities by government. Unicom Bangladesh will establish these works as IT partner of RITE in Bangladesh.
