‘Rural Road Maintenance Month October-2020’ inaugurated marking Mujib Year

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister Md Tajul Islam virtually inaugurated the ‘Rural Road Maintenance Month October-2020’ on Wednesday with the title ‘Mujib Borsher Ongikar, Sarak hobe Sangskar’ at the meeting room of his ministry at the Secretariat.
With Chief Engineer of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) Md Abdur Rashid Khan in the chair the inauguration programme was attended, among others, by Local Government Division Senior Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed.
Sheikh Mohammad Mohsin, Additional Chief Engineer (Maintenance) gave the welcome speech on the occasion.
As part of the celebration of the Mujib year, October-2020 and March-2021 have been declared as maintenance months for strengthening the regular maintenance activities of rural roads across the country.
There are a total of 3 lakh 53 thousand 353 kilometers of rural roads of different lengths under LGED across the country.
