Local Government, Rural Development and
Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam said that projects to be taken by the Local Government Engineering Division (LGED) must aim to improve the quality of life generating dynamism in rural economy.
“The rural infrastructure projects to be implemented by the LGED needs to
infuse dynamism in rural life,” he said this on Wednesday while speaking at a review meeting on the progress of LGED’s annual development projects of the 2018-19 fiscal at his ministry’s conference room here.The minister said the projects must be simultaneously implemented within the stipulated timeline maintaining quality.
Tajul, however, said the country would need to overcome many challenges for its transformation as a developed country in the coming days while “The rural communication system will play the most important role for attaining the desired development.”
State Minister for Rural Development and Cooperatives Swapan Bhattacharya, ministry officials and LGED’s Project Directors were also present, among others, at the meeting.
