Rupnagar, Adabar identified as most COVID infectious areas: IEDCR

Two police station areas in the capital have been identified as the most Covid-19 infectious areas. These two areas are –Rupnagar in Mirpur and Adabar police station in Mohammadpur.
The Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) released a report on Saturday, informing that “the detection rate in Rupnagar was 46pc and in Adabar was 44pc”.

Besides two areas, the Covid-19 detection rate in “16 other police station areas are above 30pc,” the IEDCR said.
According to the IEDCR, 14,332 tests were conducted in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) area from March 27 to April 2. Of these – 5,103 cases were identified. That means the detection rate is 36pc.
On the other hand, 10,843 cases have been identified in 36,771 tests in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) area. The detection rate is 29pc.
According to IEDCR officials, based on information obtained from DGHS’s Management Information System (MIS), the Covid-19 detection rate in 16 more police station areas in Dhaka is above 30pc. 23 police station areas have detection rates above 20pc and 7 areas have detection rates above 11pc.

Of these, 11 to 20pc are in Tejgaon, Uttara West Thana, Bhasantek, Gulshan, Cantonment, Tejgaon Industrial Area and Airport Thana area.
Between 21 to 30pc are in Shahbagh, Bangshal, Lalbagh, Shahjahanpur, Ramna, Kamrangirchar, Shyampur, Badda, Banani, Uttar Khan, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Sutrapur, Jatrabari, Pallabi, Kafrul, Demra, Wari, Bhatara, Dakshin Khan, Khilkhet, Kadamtali, Uttara East, Paltan police station areas.
Rupnagar, Adabar, Shah Ali, Rampura, Turag, Mirpur, Kalabagan, Mohammadpur, Mugda, Gandaria, Dhanmondi, Hazaribagh, Newmarket, Chawkbazar, Sabujbagh, Motijheel, Darussalam and Khilgaon police stations have the Covid-19 detection rate above 30pc.
