Legends of Rupganj eased past City Club by 22 runs in their match of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) Ground-4 in Savar on Thursday.
Put into bat first, Legends of Rupganj piled up a mammoth total of 225 for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 40 overs (10 overs were curtailed due to rain) and then all out City Club for 203 off 37.5 overs.
Second-down Naeem Islam of Legends of Rupganj notched up a sparkle 52. His 75-ball innings was studded with five fours.
One-down Chirag Jani hit a marvelous 51. He struck four fours and a sixer in his 64-ball innings. Later, Chirag Jani captured four wickets in the space of 28 runs. Chirag Jani was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
Sixth-down Tanbir Hayder remained unbeaten with 34 runs. He hit two fours and two sixes in his 25-ball knock.
Usman Khalid and Abdul Halim of City Club grabbed three wickets each instead of 28 and 46 runs respectively.
Jawad Royen and Shahriar Alam took one wicket each conceding 10 and 53 runs respectively.
One-down Zakerul Ahmed of City Club hit a terrific 56. His 50-ball innings saw nine fours.
Ashik-Ul-Alam Naeem notched up a nice 52. His 63-ball knock had seven fours and a sixer.
Usman Khalid scored 32 from 28 deliveries with two fours.
Mahedi Hasan Rana of Legends of Rupganj bagged two wickets at the cost of 34 runs.
Naeem Islam, Al-Amin Hossain, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Nabil Samad took one wicket each for 17, 38, 39 and 47 runs respectively.
