Uttar Baridhara have been relegated from the TVS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football as they suffered a massive 2-5 goals defeat to runners-up Dhaka Abahani Limited in their last match at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj on Sunday. Runners-up Dhaka Abahani Limited finished their BPL campaign with a joyful note.
Dhaka Abahani Limited grabbed 47 points from 22 matches, while Uttar Baridhara Club remained at the 11th position earning 14 points from as many outings. Earlier, Swadhinata Krira Sangha have been relegated earning 10 points from 21 matches.
Abahani’s Brazilian recruit Dorielton scored four goals with a hat-trick, while his teammate Raphael Augusto netted one.
Maruf Ahmed and Fazilov of Utttar Baridhara pulled off one each.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra defeated Saif Sporting Club by three goals to nil at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on the same day.
Miktijoddha’s foreign recruit Tetsuaki Misawa, Sudi Abdullah and Muktijoddha’s local recruit Obidur Rahman Nawab scored one goal each.
Saif Sporting Club finished third collecting 37 points from 22 matches, while Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra earned 19 points from 22 matches.
