Legendary singer of the subcontinent Runa Laila came out from home only four times after starting lockdown in March last year due to corona pandemic. She basically came out from house only for her necessary reasons. Later, she came out for two days only to receive vaccine for protection of coronavirus and to take part in stage shows on the occasion of 50 years of the independence of Bangladesh. Then she did not come out from her residence. While talking in this regard Runa Laila said, “In fact, I am passing time at home like what happens in others’ houses. But it is true that man to man varies how they pass time at their homes.
I am regularly reading books and listening to music. Besides these, I am composing music. Now I am composing music so, new tunes are always playing in my mind. I listen to music of all the singers. There is no specific singer in this case. In the meantime, I am also trying to learn something from the compositions of others’ songs. I am willing knocking them, whose songs I like, through giving them phone calls or sending SMS. I obviously listen to music of own old and new songs. I try to find out mistakes from those songs. There are some songs which might be better – it seems to me now.” I don’t know when the corona situation will be improved. After improving the situation I will go to London to meet my daughter Tani there. I have been lockdown at my house in Dhaka since last year’s March after returning from London. For this reason, I am very much eager to go to London now. I also want to see my two grandchildren there. Though I am seeing them on Whatsapp everyday but to see them closely, to meet and also to talk in front of
me – I really miss these. It is really delightful matter to me. Everybody prays for them,” Runa Laila also said.
