Noted Bangladeshi celebrated couple legendary singer Runa Laila and film actor Alamgir were honoured in Kolkata’s 19th Tele Cine Awards on Saturday with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The legendary
couple received the award amidst the presence of numerous artistes’ from both Kolkata and Bangladesh at Nazrul Moncho in Kolkata, India.
While sharing his feelings after receiving the award, actor Alamgir told the correspondent over mobile phone on Saturday night, “From Kolkata I earlier got many awards including Uttam Kumar Award. It is true that after getting the award I do not become excited or do not express properly with excitement. But obviously I feel better to get any award. I give thanks to them who honoured Runa Laila and me in Tele Cine Award. It is really a delightful matter because Runa and I received the Lifetime Achievement Awards at the 19th Tele Cine Awards in Kolkata.”
Runa Laila shared her feelings by this way, “I think this award giving ceremony is bondage between artistes from both Kolkata and Bangladesh. A number of artistes from Kolkata and Bangladesh got awards in this event. I wish everybody’s success. Everybody pray for Alamgir and me as we can remain well.”
Alamgir informed that Runa and he went to Kolkata on May 13 to attend the award giving ceremony. The Tele Cine Awards mixed out a number of conferees from Bangladesh including actor Arifin Shuvoo, singer Momtaz Begum and actor-director Mir Sabbir, among others.
