Popular actress Runa Khan had a dream to work under Asaduzzaman Noor’s direction. As a versatile actress, Runa Khan has established her position in media. Her actress like behaviour has attracted noted actor and Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor MP and noted cultural personality Sara Zaker. After their long time discussion, they have decided to cast Runa Khan in role of Laily in popular theatre play Dewan Gazir Kichchha, which is scheduled to be staged after 12 years at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on September 11.Earlier Sara Zaker, Nima Rahman and Bipasha Hayat acted in role of Laily in that play. For the first time, Runa Khan got the opportunity to play in that role. While talking in this regard Runa Khan told this correspondent, “Earlier three noted actresses worked in role of Laily in the play. For this reason, it becomes a challenge for me to portray the role properly. Despite having fear slightly I am fully confident that I can perform in that role properly. I am really grateful to Noor Bhai and Sara Apa to cast me in that role in the play. Tomorrow’s evening can become one of the memorable evenings in my life.” In 2005, Runa Khan last performed on the stage under late Khaled Khan’s direction in play Kal Sondhya. After 10 years break, she will again perform on the stage.
