The 24-year old archer has been shortlisted alongside five-time Archery World Cup champion Brady Ellison of USA, Lee Woo Seok of Korea, Khairul Anuar Mohamad of Malaysia and Mauro Nespoli of Italy for the Recurve Men Archer of the Year.
He is also shortlisted for the Breakthrough Archer of the Year along with James Lutz of USA, An San of Korea, Valentina Acosta of Colombia, Anders Faugstad of Norway and Alexis Ruiz of USA.
Frederick, the German coach, has only two opponents – Kisik Lee and Sally Park – among the Coach of the Year nominees, which were announced Tuesday.
A month-long public vote will open Wednesday and the winners of the awards will be announced during the Indoor Archery World Series Finals on February 8.
The 2019 Athlete of the Year awards for Recurve Men will be decided by a combination of a public vote and expert panels, while the awards for the Coach and Breakthrough Archer will be chosen by expert panels.
