Rule issued against Gono varsity VC for maligning ex-teacher

The High Court on Monday issued a rule calling upon the respondents to explain as to why their actions in persecuting and maligning its former teacher Dr Hasin Aunupama Azhari based upon false and fabricated information should not be declared illegal.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Laila Parveen Banu, Gono Bishwabidyalay Trustee Board Member Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury and other respondents have been asked to comply with the ruling within four weeks.
The High Court bench of Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman passed the order after holding hearing on a writ petition filed in this regard.
Barriser Masood R Sobhan and advocate Fatema A Chowdhury appeared in the hearing on behalf of the petitioner.
According to the case statement, Dr Hasin Aunupama Azhari worked as a teacher in the Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering department of the Gono Bishwabidyalay till June in 2021. But later the VC and other officials of the Gono Bishwabidyalay started writing to the foreign donors with whom Dr Hasin had working relations.
In this circumstance Dr Hasin filed a writ petition with the High Court challenging the actions of the Gono Bishwabidyalay Vice-Chancellor and others in persecuting and maligning her.
