Pacer Rubel Hossain’s name has been etched in the minds of all Bangladeshi cricket fanatics through his lion-hearted performances Down Under during the World Cup last year. Who can forget his memorable spell of high-intensity pace and reverse swing at the death to seal the pivotal victory against England in Adelaide?
It ensured the Tigers’ place in the quarterfinals of the mega event of cricket which is so far their best show on the world stage.
Recently, the cricketer tied the knot with Ishrat Jahan Dola, daughter of a cement businessman of Bagerhat. Talking to UNB, Rubel said that this is their first eid after marriage. To make this eid special, he has plans to go out with his wife somewhere during the holidays.
He wants to celebrate this eid in his village at Bagerhat with his family. “After the eid prayer, I will directly go to home and eat my most favorite vermicelli and beef made by my mother,” said Rubel.
“After taking a nap till afternoon, I will go out for hanging out till the night.”
Regarding his eid celebration, he said: “Before being a cricket star, I was not familiar to all. But now everyone waits for the moment when I will go home. Younger to Elder everyone loves me very much now. Though I have slightly lost my self-regulating but I enjoy the special caring very much.”
He still takes eid salamis from elders, but has to give more than he takes. Rubel said with laugh “now when he meets youngsters, they ask for salami from him. I enjoy this very much.”
Rubel has greeted his fans and wished everyone a better celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr. In addition, he desires for blessings for him, his family and especially for his new partner in the middle, Dola.
