Craig Ervine`s brilliant catch and a career-best 45 by Rubel Hossain were the main talking points of the second session in Chittagong. The home side were bowled out for 503 runs, buoyed by the 51-run, tenth-wicket partnership between Rubel and Jubair Hossain. The Bangladesh No. 10 remained unbeaten on 45 off 44 balls with four sixes and two fours. All blows came between the square-leg and midwicket region, the best of those shots being the flick on one knee off Tinashe Panyangara, who had been Zimbabwe`s best bowler in the first session. He struck one other six off the seamer and the other two off Sikandar Raza. Raza, Zimbabwe`s part-time offspinner, took three wickets while Shingi and Hamilton Masakadza took two wickets apiece. At lunch, Bangladesh were 384 for 5 but with Shakib Al Hasan at the crease, there was hope for a longer stay in the middle and a quicker run-rate. He reached his fifty off 75 balls and moved to 71, before a brilliant diving effort from Ervine at cover removed him. Shakib had mistimed a Sikandar Raza delivery, which took the top-edge and was pouched by a delighted Ervine. He struck seven boundaries in his 110-ball knock.
