The construction works of a rubber dam was inaugurated on Moharashi river at Nalkura area in Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur district on Friday.
Member of Parliament of Sherpur-3 AKM Fazlul Haque inaugurated it.
LGED will construct this rubber dam and its construction cost is estimated at Tk 8 crores and 52 lakh .
About five thousands farmers will get irrigation facilities and three thousands acres of land on both side of the dam will come under boro cultivation , if the dam is built, sources said.
