The students of Rajshahi University demonstrated on the campus over kidnapping of a residential female student on Friday morning.
Female students staged a sit-in near the residence of Vice Chancellor, demanding her safe rescue.
Umme Shahi Ammana Shova, a fourth year
student of Bangla and a resident of Taposhi Rabeya Hall, was picked up on Friday.
Proctor Professor Md Lutfor Rahman admitted the fact. He said, the university authorities informed the police in this regard.

Our local Staff Correspondent quotes Shova’s friends to report that the man who picked her up was one Sohel Rana, her ex-husband.
However, according to her friends, they mutually divorced in September this year.
Witness said, Shova was walking to an examination hall when her ex-husband came in a microbus and stopped in front of her barring her way around 8:30am.
After an altercation, Sohel forcefully picked up Shova in the microbus and left.
Amzad Hossain, father of the victim, filed an abduction case against Sohel Rana with Motihar Police Station.
