Leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) of Rajshahi University (RU) yesterday brought out a procession on the campus demanding release of its detained leaders including RU unit General Secretary Saifuddin Yeahia.
Witnesses said, About 150 leaders and activists brought out a procession from the university Paribahan Market premises around 9:00am which ended at the Rabindra arts building after parading the campus.
They had left the campus before police reached.
Later, protesting the Shibir procession, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders and activists of RU unit also staged showdown on campus.
Contacted, Alamgir Hossain, Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Motihar thana police said, Shibir activists brought out a brisk procession but they could not create anarchy on the campus.
