RU Prof Sultan Ahmed passes away

Professor Sultan Ahmed, a teacher of Islamic History and Culture Department of Rajshahi University died of heart attack on Thursday at the age of 65.
He left behind his son and daughter.
Professor Sultan Ahmed, who was also the director of Rajshahi Varendra Museum, fell sick at 9:30am while he was taking class of the first year student on Thursday, said the department chair Professor Azizul Haque.
Noticing that, teachers and students of the department rushed the Professor to the university medical center from where he was referred to Rajshahi Medical Collage Hospital where Prof Sultan breathed his last.
His Namaz-E-Janaza was held at university central mosque premises after the Asar prayer while he was buried at the university graveyard.
RU VC Prof M Abdus Sobhan and Pro-VC Prof Ananda Kumar Saha expressed profound shock at the death of Professor Sultan.
In a condolence message, they said professor Sultan Ahmed’s contribution to the arena of education and research of the islamic history and culture department would be ever remembered.
They prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
