RU Correspondent :
Students of Rajshahi University (RU) mass communication and journalism department on Tuesday declared a seven-days class boycotting programme starting from Wednesday, demanding fair investigation and justice into the killings of Motaleb Hossain Lipu.
On October 20, Hossain Lipu, a second year student of RU mass communication and journalism department, was found dead in a drain beside the dining of the university Nawab Abdul Latif Hall.
They declared the programme a day after the department’s seven-day ultimatum to arrest the culprits ended on Monday.
Lipu’s classmate and third year student of the department Mehedi Hasan said, they were disappointed as they didn’t find any tangible progress into the killings of their friend Motaleb Hossain Lipu.
“We will continue our programmes until the punishment to the perpetrators are being ensured through a proper justice”, he added.
They also held a candle light procession on campus in the evening.
The department also declared to hold a students’ rally tomorrow in front of the university senate building.
