The Bachelor (Hons) first year admission deadline of Rajshahi University (RU) under the academic session 2016-17 has been extended.
The deadline has been extended up to January 30, 2017 for admission to 52 vacant seats in various departments. Student adviser and admission committee member Professor Mizanur Rahman confirmed that on January 15, 2017.
However, the first year classes will begin on Tuesday as usual, he said. The decision was taken at a meeting of the university’s admission committee. The admission committee said, admission process of current academic session was completed on January 03, 2017.
However, no students were admitted in 26 seats of Psychology Department under the Faculty of Life & Earth Science. A total of 31 seats were left vacant due to cancellation of admission in that department. 15 more seats in various departments of Science Faculty left vacant due to the cancellation of admission.
In addition, a total of 52 seats including 2 seats in Engineering Faculty and 4 seats in four other faculties were left vacant. Professor Mizanur Rahman said, the admission committee has decided to extend the deadline to make sure that there are no vacant seats at the University.
The quota and vacant seats admission process will be completed within January 30, 2017. Classes of the academic session 2016-17 will begin on January 17, 2017. Detailed information regarding the admission can be found at the University website: (http://www.ru.ac.bd/) and will be put up on the notice boards of respective faculties.
